Deadline for renegotiating debts with Mogi City Hall is extended
The deadline for renegotiating debts with the Mogi City Hall has been extended to March 31, providing more time for taxpayers to settle their obligations under special conditions.
The municipality of Mogi das Cruzes has announced an extension of the deadline for residents to renegotiate their debts with the City Hall until March 31. This decision was made to provide taxpayers more time to take advantage of favorable conditions in settling their outstanding debts with the municipal administration. Originally, the deadline was set to expire on January 6, prompting the city's administration to offer this extension for better accessibility to their citizens.
Through the Acordo Mogiano program, residents can negotiate various debts, including the Urban Land Tax (IPTU), Real Estate Transfer Tax (ITBI), and the Service Tax (ISS) related to the construction sector. The program features significant discounts, sometimes reaching up to 65% off the principal amount owed, as well as the possibility of 100% exemption from interest fees. The favorable terms are intended to encourage timely payment and compliance among the city's residents.
For individual taxpayers, debt repayment can be structured in up to 72 monthly installments with minimum payments of R$ 50. In contrast, businesses are allowed to pay over a maximum of 60 months, with monthly installments beginning at R$ 100. This initiative not only aims to ease the financial burden on residents but also seeks to improve the municipality's tax collection, thereby enhancing public services and city development overall.
