On February 8, Russian forces targeted Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast with a FAB-250 aerial bomb, leading to a tragic incident where a 77-year-old woman was killed, and three men sustained various injuries from the blast. The bombing occurred at around 05:00 near an apartment building, illustrating the ongoing violence in the region as tensions remain high between Ukraine and Russia.

The report from the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor's Office detailed that the attack inflicted serious damage on the local infrastructure, with 11 apartment buildings and several vehicles affected. The three injured men, aged 40, 46, and 48, suffered from shrapnel injuries, concussions, and lacerations as a result of the explosion. Notably, a journalist from the Ukrainian outlet Podrobytsi, Ihor Levenok, was also caught in the attack, sustaining injuries, which underlines the dangers faced by media personnel in conflict zones.

This bombing follows a similar incident just a day earlier, where Russian troops were reported to have killed three civilians and injured 21 others in separate attacks in Donetsk and Kherson oblasts. Such continual violence disrupts the fragile situation in eastern Ukraine, drawing attention to the humanitarian crisis further exacerbated by military actions, and raises concerns about the safety of civilians and reporters in affected areas.
