Delhi residents should prepare for the stinging heat, the weather has taken a U-turn!
Delhi is experiencing a continuous rise in temperatures with little to no chance of rain, while the Indian Meteorological Department reports that maximum temperatures are increasing significantly in February 2026.
Delhi is facing an increase in temperatures, with forecasts indicating minimal rainfall for the near future. According to the IMD Regional Meteorological Center, there has been a consistent rise in maximum temperatures throughout the month of February 2026. For example, the maximum temperature recorded on February 1 was 24.6°C, which climbed to 25.1°C by February 7, although there was a brief dip to 17.5°C on February 2. Since then, temperatures have risen steadily.
The fluctuations in temperature highlight a concerning trend as last year's February maximum was significantly higher, reaching 32.4°C on February 26, 2025. Comparatively, the temperatures recorded in 2024 and 2023 were also high, indicating a pattern of increasing warmth during this period. The rising temperatures pose concerns for residents, particularly as the season progresses without the usual respite of rain.
Moreover, other cities like Mumbai are also experiencing similar temperature increases, raising alarms about changing weather patterns across India. This trend calls for public awareness regarding heat waves and necessary precautions to mitigate related health risks as meteorological conditions continue to shift unfavorably.
