The Superior Court of Justice (STJ) in Brazil has ordered the Waldorf Rudolf Steiner School to compensate the father of a student, Victoria Mafra Natalini, with R$ 1 million following her death in 2015 during a school field trip to Itatiba, located 84 km from São Paulo. This ruling overturned the previous decision by the São Paulo State Court, which had reduced the compensation amount from the original R$ 1 million claim to R$ 100,000. The legal battle began in 2018, and after an unfavorable decision at the state level in 2021, the family sought a special appeal in the higher court.
