A tragic traffic accident occurred on Saturday morning, February 7, at kilometer 30 of the coastal road, traveling from Santa Elena to Guayaquil. The incident was attributed to wet road conditions caused by rain, which led to the vehicle losing control and colliding with a post. Emergency services, coordinated by ECU911, responded swiftly to the scene, which involved personnel from the Guayaquil Fire Department, the concessionaire Cvialco, and the Ecuador Traffic Commission (CTE).

Upon arrival, rescuers confirmed the death of two individuals involved in the accident. Additionally, two other occupants were injured and transported to a healthcare facility for treatment. The car was severely damaged as a result of the collision. In response to the accident, the CTE commenced investigations and extended assistance to those affected, underscoring the urgent need for road safety.
