Convention Center Metrovía Stop Will Be Closed for 30 Days: Maintenance on Pedestrian Crossing
The Convention Center stop of the Metrovía system will be closed for 30 days starting February 9, 2026, due to maintenance work on the elevated pedestrian crossing.
The Convention Center stop of the Metrovía transport system in Guayaquil, Ecuador, will be closed for a period of 30 days commencing from February 9, 2026, in order to facilitate maintenance work on the elevated pedestrian crossing located on Las Américas Avenue, in front of the Simón Bolívar Convention Center. This closure aims to improve safety and mobility conditions in the area, as stated by the Transit and Mobility Agency (ATM).
The maintenance work involves reconstructing the access ramps of the pedestrian bridge, which are crucial for connecting pedestrians with both the Metrovía stop and the Convention Center itself. The repairs are being carried out by the Public Works Directorate of the Guayaquil Municipality, highlighting the local government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure for better public safety.
During this maintenance period, users are encouraged to utilize the Naval Oeste stop, which is approximately 400 meters to the south of the Convention Center stop, to continue their usual routes. Once the maintenance work is completed, the Convention Center stop will be reopened for public use, aiming to provide improved access and safety for commuters and visitors to the Convention Center.
