Three stations of Line 2 of the Metro will close this Monday, why?
Three stations on Mexico City's Metro Line 2 will be closed for renovations on Monday, March 16, during the holiday.
The Mexico City Metro System announced that on Monday, March 16, three stations on Line 2 (Taxqueña - Cuatro Caminos) will be closed for renovations. This closure coincides with a holiday when the Metro operates from 07:00 to 24:00, but service will be limited to the established circuits running between Tasqueña-Xola and Cuatro Caminos-Pino Suárez in both directions.
The closed stations are San Antonio Abad, Chabacano, and Viaducto. As a measure to mitigate the impact of these closures, the Metro has also communicated that there will be supporting RTP bus service in place between the Xola and Pino Suárez sections in both directions.
This renovation is part of a comprehensive maintenance and rehabilitation effort for Line 2 throughout the year, aimed at improving overall service and infrastructure. The disruption is intended to enhance the long-term usability and safety of this critical part of Mexico City's public transportation system, which serves a significant number of commuters daily.
