Police foil Lakurawa bandits’ attack in Kebbi, kill suspect
The Kebbi State Police Command, along with military support, successfully thwarted a cattle-rustling attack by bandits in Nigeria, resulting in the death of one suspect.
The Kebbi State Police Command, in collaboration with military forces and other security agencies, successfully foiled an attack by suspected Lakurawa bandits at Tungan Babu Lada village in Bunza Local Government Area. The attackers, who had shot and killed a local man named Usman Ferungu and stolen cattle, were intercepted by joint security forces shortly after the incident. The police received reports of the attack and swiftly organized a response to apprehend the assailants.
During their pursuit, the security team, led by the Divisional Police Officer of Kangiwa Division, successfully tracked down the fleeing bandits at Garin Mayo Mine. A violent confrontation ensued, during which one of the suspected bandits was killed, and four motorcycles allegedly used in the crime were seized. The operation has been hailed as a significant disruption of the criminal activities plaguing the region, emphasizing the collaborative efforts of police and military units in addressing security challenges.
