Car flips and knocks down two poles on a street in Fortaleza

A car flipped over and knocked down two poles on Raul Barbosa Avenue in Fortaleza, disrupting traffic in the area on Saturday morning.

In the early hours of Saturday, a car accident occurred on Raul Barbosa Avenue in Fortaleza when a vehicle flipped over and knocked down two utility poles. This incident led to significant traffic congestion, as the fallen poles obstructed the roadway for vehicles traveling from the Castelão neighborhood towards Aldeota. Traffic authorities recommended detours and worked on recovery efforts to clear the blocks.

The accident happened near the access to the Via Expressa in the Aerolândia neighborhood, where the vehicle collided with a pole, causing the wiring to pull down a second pole. Both poles subsequently blocked important lanes of the avenue, making it a difficult commute for local drivers. Emergency services, including Enel, were called to address the fallen poles and restore safety to the area.

By midday, traffic conditions began to improve as the clearance operations concluded and alternate routes were established. The Municipal Traffic and Citizenship Authority (AMC) played a key role in rerouting vehicles through the nearby Murilo Borges and Rogaciano Leite avenues, ensuring the affected area returned to normal flow by the early afternoon.
