Roads around the party poles will be blocked for traffic during Carnival in Fortaleza
Traffic will be restricted around the Carnival celebration areas in Fortaleza to ensure safety for revelers.
The Municipal Traffic and Citizenship Authority (AMC) of Fortaleza has announced that roads surrounding the carnival celebration zones will be closed to traffic from Saturday, February 14, until Tuesday, February 17. This initiative is part of the city's efforts to ensure the safety of attendees participating in the vibrant Carnival festivities. By prohibiting vehicle access in these areas, the city aims to create a secure environment for the thousands of locals and tourists expected to partake in the celebrations.
During this period, a total of 264 traffic agents and guides will be deployed to assist both drivers and pedestrians, helping to manage the flow of people and provide guidance on detours and alternative routes. Specific areas where traffic restrictions will be enforced include the Aterro da Praia de Iracema and Mercado dos Pinhões, among others, starting from 2 PM on the designated days. Residents, guests, and individuals with disabilities will be permitted access with appropriate documentation, ensuring that their mobility needs are respected amidst the festivities.
This measure reflects Fortaleza's commitment to prioritizing public safety during large gatherings, especially during notable events like Carnival, which attracts substantial crowds each year. As the city prepares for these celebrations, coordinated efforts from various agencies signal the importance of maintaining order and safety, thereby enhancing the overall experience for both participants and local residents.
