President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with Latvian Olympians during the Milan and Cortina Olympic Games in Italy.
President Edgars Rinkēvičs is currently visiting Italy to attend the Milan and Cortina Olympic Games, where he has met with Latvian Olympians including hockey players and officials from the Latvian Olympic Committee. This visit, which extends until February 12, includes various official events related to the Olympic Games.
During the trip, Rinkēvičs is scheduled to participate in working dinners hosted by the International Olympic Committee's president, Kirsty Coventry, and will also attend a reception hosted by Italian President Sergio Mattarella. Additionally, he will be involved in receptions arranged by the Latvian Olympic Committee and the Latvian embassy in Italy, as well as the opening of the honorary consulate of Latvia in Lombardy. These events underline the importance of international cooperation in sports.
Aside from his official duties, President Rinkēvičs is expected to witness Latvian athletes in action during various competitions such as the biathlon mixed relay, men's and women's singles luge events, men's 1000 meters short track, and figure skating.
