Puerto López, Ecuador, is gearing up for its major Carnival event, the Color Fest, scheduled for February 16, where electronic music will take center stage. The festival, taking place at the malecón Julio Izurieta, will feature performances from notable DJs including DJ Rabbit, Franz, Alexis Parrales, Los Extraditables, and animated by El Chavito. This event, free of charge, is expected to draw large crowds, making it the highlight of the Carnival celebrations in the area.

Last year's Color Fest was reported to have generated the highest visitor turnout in Puerto López, emphasizing its growing popularity among both locals and tourists. The influx of visitors was notably attributed to the vibrant music and beach programming, marking the festival as a key attraction during the holiday season. Local tourism operators noted the positive economic impact attributed to the influx of tourists during the event.

In anticipation of the festival, the Municipal Government of Puerto López is backing the Association of Cabañas, which is organizing the official launch of the beach season dubbed "Let's Go to the Beach Puerto López 2026". This launch event, slated for February 7, will host several activities in the lead-up to the Carnival festivities, showcasing the local culture and boosting community engagement ahead of the Color Fest.
