Unusual operation in Lapua – Man stuck his head in a place he shouldn't have
A man in Lapua became trapped in a hole while trying to help his dog during a hunting trip.
In Lapua, Finland, a peculiar incident occurred when a man became trapped in a hole he had dug himself while searching for his dog during a hunting expedition. The local rescue department received a call about the situation around 4:15 PM. The man, who was out hunting for small predators, likely targeting raccoon dogs, attempted to assist his dog by digging a hole to free it from a burrow but ended up getting stuck in a hole approximately two meters deep.
The fire chief, Henri Pajander, reported that the hunter had located his dog but needed to create an opening for it to emerge. Unfortunately, while trying to call his dog, he must have leaned into the hole head-first, which left him unable to extricate himself. The unusual situation not only posed risks to the man but also required a timely intervention from the local rescue teams.
After becoming aware of his predicament, the man managed to call for help on his own. The rescue department highlighted the importance of safety measures in such hunting activities, especially when dealing with deep holes in forested areas. This incident serves as a reminder for hunters to take appropriate precautions to avoid dangerous situations in the wilderness.
