Mazda CX-3 is going into history

Mazda has announced that the production of its long-standing model CX-3 will cease earlier than expected, with the official stop set for the end of February on the Japanese market.

The Mazda CX-3, one of the company's smallest and most recognizable models, is set to go out of production after more than a decade on the market. Initially introduced in 2015, its production was expected to conclude in March, but this has now been moved up to the end of February for the Japanese market. While this decision will not affect the European market as the CX-3 was already discontinued there in late 2021, concerns remain about the fate of the export variants. Current models sold in Japan are sourced from Mazda's Thai factory, which supplies other markets as well, including Mexico. Therefore, a global halt in production is anticipated to follow shortly after the Japanese closure.
