Bus drove off with woman in the luggage compartment – the driver lacked a license
A woman in Norway was left in a bus's luggage compartment after the doors closed while she searched for her suitcase, and the driver did not have a valid license.
In a bizarre incident in Drammen, Norway, a 26-year-old woman found herself stranded in the luggage compartment of a bus after it departed while she was retrieving her suitcase. She had taken the 'Torp Express' to Bangeløkka and attempted to access her luggage when both of the compartment doors unexpectedly slammed shut, leading the bus to continue on its route without her.
The woman described her experience as uncomfortable and concerning, especially as the bus traveled along the highway for about 20 minutes before the next stop. Throughout the journey, she was in contact with the police, who were alerted to the situation and responded at the subsequent bus stop. Fortunately, she was unharmed, despite the unnerving circumstances of her unexpected journey beneath the bus.
The police operation leader, Eskil Hagen Olsen, indicated that the event was deemed an accident and that there were no injuries reported. However, following discussions with the driver, who was lacking a valid driver's license, an official investigation has been launched into the incident, which raises questions about safety regulations and protocols regarding public transport in Norway.
