Pet cemetery resumes activities after environmental regularization in Rio Branco
The Jardim dos Animais pet cemetery in Rio Branco has resumed operations after completing environmental regularization required by regulatory bodies.
The Jardim dos Animais pet cemetery, situated in rural Rio Branco, has officially resumed its activities following the completion of necessary environmental regularization processes mandated by oversight authorities. The cemetery had its burials suspended at the beginning of 2025 due to a recommendation from the Public Ministry of Acre (MP-AC). After being inaugurated in August 2024, the suspension significantly impacted the service offered to pet owners wishing to say a final farewell to their beloved animals.
Rejane Campos, the owner of the cemetery, confirmed that all requirements set forth by the authorities have been met, allowing her to regain the necessary operational licenses. As of Wednesday, the cemetery has received both the Operating License and the Certificate of Viability from the Municipal Secretariat of the Environment of Rio Branco (Semeia). This crucial step enables the cemetery to provide its services without further interruption, ensuring a humane and respectful farewell for pets.
Fields and services were previously suspended despite a supporting decree that granted permission for their operation. After addressing the concerns raised by the Public Ministry regarding territorial definitions, the cemetery pursued the missing licenses, culminating in the completion of the regularization process. This successful outcome not only reinstates essential services for pet owners in the community but also aligns the cemetery's operations with environmental regulations, promoting responsible pet care and burial practices in the region.
