Somalia: Jubaland Leader Praises U.S. Africom Special Forces for Security Cooperation

Jubaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam recently met with U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) special operations personnel stationed in the Jubaland region, emphasizing their pivotal role in enhancing security and fighting the Al-Shabaab militant organization. Islam expressed gratitude for the officers' collaboration in security measures, notably their training of local forces and participation in successful counterterrorism operations that have weakened Al-Shabaab's presence in the region.
During the discussions, President Islam highlighted the professionalism, courage, and precise coordination demonstrated by the AFRICOM personnel, attributing the improved stability and safety in Jubaland to their diligent efforts.
