The conflict had escalated over the previous week to the point where the students were forced to stay home for the remainder of the week. The confrontation turned violent when they attempted to resolve their issues using a sharp weapon.

One student was injured in the altercation and was taken to the hospital for treatment after receiving first aid on school grounds.
