Denies charges of abuse

The man accused of serious sexual offenses against multiple children pleaded not guilty at the start of his trial in Sunnmøre District Court.

A man facing serious allegations of sexual assaults on several children has pleaded not guilty in court. The case, which has been initiated at Sunnmøre District Court, involves severe charges that include multiple physical rapes of a child under 14 years old. There are a total of six victims involved, coming from various places across the country, highlighting the broad impact of the allegations.

To protect the identities and well-being of the child victims, the court has closed the proceedings to the public, allowing only media representatives inside. This effort reflects the sensitive nature of the case and the commitment to preventing any further trauma to the young victims. Furthermore, the court has prohibited the publication of identifying details such as names, addresses, and schools to maintain the confidentiality of those involved.

Due to the youth of many victims, who are too young to attend the courtroom proceedings, specially arranged testimonies will be conducted over the coming days. This approach underscores the legal system's efforts to support vulnerable witnesses while ensuring that the judicial process continues, demonstrating the serious nature of the alleged offenses and the need for careful handling in court.
