NAF to sustain air operations against terrorists — CAS
The Nigerian Air Force is committed to continuing its air operations against terrorists as part of its ongoing security efforts.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its dedication to sustaining and enhancing air operations directed against terrorist and criminal activities within Nigeria. This pledge was made by the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, during an Eid-el-Fitr luncheon held in Makurdi, Benue State, where he expressed appreciation for the efforts of the troops involved in Operation WHIRL STROKE. He was represented by Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, who emphasized the resilience of NAF in executing operations to safeguard the region.
In his remarks, the CAS outlined the NAF's strategy of conducting intelligence-driven air campaigns aimed at undermining the operational strength of terrorist groups and criminal networks in Nigeria. He highlighted the importance of close cooperation between the NAF and other security agencies, which is pivotal to executing precision strikes, providing close air support, and conducting armed reconnaissance missions. These coordinated efforts are intended to ensure operational effectiveness in battling the threats posed by extremists.
The commitment made by the NAF signifies the ongoing challenge that terrorism presents in Nigeria and the military's response to these threats. The announcement also serves to reassure the Nigerian populace of the military's efforts to enhance national security. As operations continue, the emphasis on intelligence and collaboration with other military branches and agencies may prove essential in achieving long-term stability in the region.
