World Championships, Milanese swimmer D'Angelo wins two medals

Walter D'Angelo, representing Italy at the International Winter Swimming Association World Championships held in Oulu, Finland, has achieved remarkable success by winning two medals: a gold in the 25 meters breaststroke and a silver in the 50 meters breaststroke. This accomplishment marks another milestone for the seasoned swimmer from Lombardy, who is no stranger to extreme conditions, competing among over 1,500 swimmers from 50 countries ranging from ages 20 to 80.
The championships were held from March 2 to March 8, gathering a diverse group of competitors divided by age categories and swimming specialties. The Italian team comprised seven male athletes who collectively secured an impressive total of 13 medals across various events, underlining the strength and competitiveness of Italy in winter swimming. D'Angelo's performance stands out, especially considering that he managed to outperform a local Finnish competitor in the 25-meter event.
D'Angelo, who trains with the Canottieri Baldesio in Cremona, continues to set records and inspire others in the world of extreme swimming.
