Large roof fire in Søborg extinguished after eight-hour effort

A significant roof fire in Tinghøjparken, Søborg, was extinguished after an extensive eight-hour firefighting effort involving 16 emergency vehicles.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, firefighters from Hovedstadens Beredskab successfully extinguished a major building fire in Tinghøjparken, Søborg, after an arduous eight-hour operation. The response began when multiple reports of the fire were received around 5:13 PM the previous day, with images showing large flames erupting from the building's roof. By approximately 2 AM, the last of the fire trucks left the scene following the successful control of the blaze.

Frank Mikkelsen, operations chief at Hovedstadens Beredskab, reported that firefighters managed to get the fire under control a few hours before midnight. The efficacy of their response was crucial given the considerable smoke seen rising into the sky, which had drawn attention from nearby residents and prompted urgent action. At least 16 emergency vehicles were dispatched to the scene to manage the situation and mitigate its impact.

As for the cause of the fire, which remains unknown, Paw Skou, a duty officer with Vestegnens Politi, indicated that several technical investigations will be conducted to determine the origins of the blaze. This incident not only highlights the dangers of structural fires but also underscores the need for thorough investigations in ensuring public safety and preventing future occurrences.
