Robbery at Convenience Store in Nara City, Man in His 20s Escapes with 180,000 Yen

A man in his 20s robbed a convenience store in Nara City, taking approximately 180,000 yen and fleeing the scene.

In the early hours of the morning on the 23rd, a robbery occurred at the MiniStop convenience store located in Tezukayama, Nara City. A store employee reported to the police that a man had demanded money while threatening him with what appeared to be a knife. The Nara Prefectural Police have classified the incident as a robbery and are actively pursuing the suspect's whereabouts.

According to the Nara West Police Station, the suspect, described as being in his 20s and wearing a white mask, had initially entered the store pretending to purchase cigarettes. After approaching the counter, he then brandished a knife-like object to intimidate the employee into handing over cash. The employee complied, providing approximately 182,000 yen before the assailant fled the scene.

Fortunately, there were no customers present in the store at the time of the incident, and the employee was unharmed. The police have intensified their search for the suspect, emphasizing the need for public safety and vigilance in light of the violent nature of the crime, which has alarmed the local community in Nara City.
