As freight traffic increases during the spring season, the South Korean government announced an intensive crackdown on illegal operations of freight trucks beginning on the 24th. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport revealed that they will be conducting joint inspections alongside five other agencies, focusing on illegal activities such as overloading, improper cargo loading, and illegal modifications across major highways and toll booths. The inspection scope will include areas prone to freight truck accidents and those with high traffic volumes, aiming to promote road safety.
