A man was detained by the Municipal Guard of Sorocaba on Sunday after he took control of a public bus while the driver was absent and crashed it into a pole. The incident occurred around noon at the Santo AntΓ΄nio Terminal, the largest terminal in the city. Taking advantage of the driver's absence, the man commandeered the bus on line L05, which connects Ibiti Royal to Vila Fiori.
The man drove approximately 1.5 km through the city, passing through the downtown area and over a bridge, before losing control and colliding with a pole at the intersection of Hermelino Matarazzo and SΓ£o Vicente streets. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries from the crash. After the collision, the man attempted to leave the scene but was later apprehended by the Municipal Guard in the vicinity.
