Dino speaks on anomalies in amendments sent to Codevasf and Dnocs and sets deadlines to improve oversight

Minister Flávio Dino has established new deadlines for agencies to enhance control mechanisms over the execution of parliamentary amendments in Brazil.

On Sunday, Minister Flávio Dino of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) announced new deadlines for various government agencies to improve their control mechanisms regarding the execution of parliamentary amendments. This decision came after the federal government submitted a technical note to the court outlining a work plan related to these amendments. Agencies such as the Attorney General's Office (AGU), Codevasf, Dnocs, and DenaSus have until the end of the semester to provide responses to the minister regarding their compliance with these new guidelines.

Dino emphasized the urgency of these measures, particularly regarding the Dnocs, which he noted currently faces a significant number of anomalies and mismanagement issues. He specified that much of the technical note's measures should be implemented by May 30, 2026, indicating a serious commitment to ensuring oversight and accountability in the management of public funds allocated through parliamentary amendments. This marks a critical step in addressing the irregularities that have been plaguing these institutions.

Furthermore, in an important procedural move, Codevasf is given 60 days to initiate an investigation and reimbursement process for misallocated funds. This directive reflects a broader intention to enhance transparency and rectify past financial discrepancies, setting a precedent for stricter oversight in Brazil's governmental operations pertaining to development projects.
