Young man falls from motorcycle, tries to get up, and is run over by a truck, police say
A 19-year-old motorcyclist died after being hit by a truck while attempting to get up after falling from his bike in Gurupi, Tocantins.

The incident happened on Saturday as the young man was riding on Av. Goiás when he lost control after hitting a pothole and fell. Witnesses reported that as he attempted to rise from the ground, a truck following in the same direction ran him over.
The truck driver, a 50-year-old man, fled the scene following the incident but was later apprehended by the Military Police with the assistance of tactical forces. Upon his detainment, it was noted that he exhibited signs of intoxication. The police recorded his refusal to take a breathalyzer test, and a report documenting his refusal was filed. After this, he was taken to the Central de Flagrantes for further processing.
