The incident unfolded shortly before 8:00 AM when the officer, identified as a first-class constable, shot himself inside the police headquarters. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, and he was transported to the "Chatzikosta" Hospital, where medical staff worked tirelessly to stabilize his condition. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to the University General Hospital of Ioannina for further treatment, but unfortunately, he did not survive.
