Russia Resumes Use of Space Launch Site Damaged in Accident

Russia has successfully launched a rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome's Site 31, which had been out of commission since an accident last year.

In a significant development for its space exploration efforts, Russia has resumed launches from Site 31 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, marking the first use of the facility since it was damaged during a rocket launch in November 2022. The incident involved the Soyuz MS-28 mission, which suffered structural damage to the launch pad, leading to a halt in crewed missions to the International Space Station (ISS) from this site. The repairs to the damaged area were completed earlier this month, allowing Russia's Roscosmos space agency to conduct a successful launch of the uncrewed Progress MS-33 cargo ship to the ISS on Sunday.
