An apartment building explodes in Rome, there are injured. About seventy people in the street

An explosion in the Ponte Galeria area of Rome has caused an apartment building to collapse, resulting in serious injuries and many people evacuated to the street.

A serious explosion in the Ponte Galeria area of Rome led to the collapse of an apartment building on via Tavagnasco. Initial reports indicate that the explosion impacted three buildings, prompting a quick response from firefighting and police units. Currently, there are reports of two serious injuries and around seventy people evacuated to safety in the vicinity.

According to firefighters, the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder (GPL) which resulted in significant structural damage. The blast destroyed the walls of the affected buildings and sent debris flying, causing further damage to parked cars nearby. In a heroic effort, firefighters managed to rescue two people trapped under the rubble, who were then swiftly handed over to emergency medical services for treatment.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing as authorities work diligently to ensure that no one else is trapped in the wreckage.
