Settlers set fire to buildings and cars in the West Bank; security source: 11 Palestinians were lightly injured

Israeli settlers set fire to buildings and vehicles in multiple locations in the West Bank, injuring 11 Palestinians in the process.

In a series of violent incidents last night, Israeli settlers ignited buildings and vehicles across multiple sites in the West Bank, resulting in the reported light injuries of 11 Palestinians, according to a security source. Over 20 incidents of nationalist crime were recorded, with reports indicating that settlers also hurled stones at Palestinians, sprayed graffiti, discharged fireworks in Palestinian villages, and blocked roads.

Particularly affected were the villages of Funduqamiya and Silat al-Dahr, located between Nablus and Jenin, where settlers set fire to buildings and vehicles. The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that two individuals were injured from assaults, and two others were sprayed with pepper gas. Further violence was noted in the village of Qaryut near Ramallah, where settlers threw stones and set fire to two vehicles, and in Sebastia near Nablus, where an explosive device was thrown, leading to the incineration of two buildings and three vehicles.

Recent incidents appear to be linked to the death of Yehuda Sherman, an 18-year-old from the settlement of Elon Moreh, who was killed by a Palestinian vehicle in Area A, which is off-limits to Israelis. The WhatsApp group 'News of Our People' referenced a 'revenge campaign throughout the West Bank', emphasizing a narrative of retaliation fueled by the perception of threats to settlers. Video evidence from the raid in Jaloud shows dozens of settlers entering the village and setting fire to vehicles, reflecting the growing tensions and cycles of retribution in the region.
