Son Heung-min fails to score again in the regular league... Joining Hong Myung-bo's team for the European expedition
Son Heung-min has once again failed to score in the regular league during LAFC's recent match that ended in a draw.
Son Heung-min, playing for LAFC in Major League Soccer, has struggled to find the net, failing to score in the regular league match against Austin FC, which ended in a 0-0 draw. This match, held at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas, marked the end of LAFC's undefeated four-game winning streak, dropping them to second place in the Western Conference with 13 points. Despite his efforts, including five shots taken during the match, Son could not manage to contribute to his team's scoreline.
Previously, Son had found some success in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, where he scored a penalty goal against Real Espana. However, he has now gone several matches without scoring in the MLS, currently accumulating a total of one goal and seven assists across both competitions this season. Since joining LAFC last summer, Son proved to be a key player in the second half of the previous season with nine goals and three assists in ten matches, raising expectations for his performance this season.
Looking ahead, Son will be traveling with the South Korean national team for two upcoming A matches in Europe against Ivory Coast in Milton Keynes on March 28 and Austria in Vienna on April 1. These matches could be crucial for Son to regain his scoring form and contribute positively to his national team's aspirations while building momentum ahead of the remainder of the MLS season.
