A joint memorial service for those who died in a recent factory fire in Daejeon was established in the city hall as the government works on identifying the deceased.

On the 22nd, Daejeon City Hall set up a joint memorial for the victims of a fire that occurred on the 20th in an automobile parts manufacturing factory in Daejeon’s Daedeok District, where 14 people lost their lives. As part of the identification process, the government is recovering the remains of all 14 missing individuals. A meeting was held by the Minister of the Interior and Safety, Yoon Ho-joong, to review ongoing disaster response efforts. The government is providing support for the families of the victims by designating dedicated officials to assist them with psychological counseling, funerals, and living expenses, and is also accelerating the identification process by deploying additional DNA analysis resources.
