UFPB launches new selection process for occupancy of residual or unfilled vacancies
The Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) has announced a new admission process for its undergraduate programs aimed at filling unfilled vacancies through Specific Selection Process (PSE).
The Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) has introduced a new admission procedure called the Specific Selection Process (PSE) intended to fill residual vacancies that arise throughout the academic year. This initiative comes on the heels of the launch of the Proprietary Selection Process (PSP) earlier this January, which was designed to occupy seats not filled by conventional selection systems, particularly those left vacant by the Unified Selection System (Sisu).
The new selection processes are particularly inclusive, targeting marginalized groups including transgender individuals, refugees, and humanitarian visa holders, as well as public servants associated with UFPB. Other specific demographics eligible for these new vacancies include individuals over 50 years of age, graduates from Adult Education (EJA) or the National Certificate of Secondary Education (Encceja), and winners of knowledge-based competitions, alongside student-athletes receiving athletic scholarships.
By implementing the PSE and PSP, UFPB aims to create a more accessible education system and ensure that educational opportunities are available to a wider audience of applicants. The differentiation between PSE and PSP processes allows the university to more effectively manage its enrollment and provide equitable access to its academic programs amid fluctuating student commitments.
