Environmental Circuit in Itaipava Brings Together Education, Exhibitions, and Interaction with Animals

An environmental education circuit in Itaipava has engaged locals and visitors through activities centered on nature conservation.

The environmental education circuit in Itaipava, a district of Petrópolis in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro, has been attracting both residents and visitors since March 13. This initiative, running until this Sunday, March 22, is designed to raise awareness about nature preservation through interactive learning sessions, exhibitions, and direct engagement with animals. The project is jointly organized by the APA Petrópolis and ICMBio, aiming to educate participants on important environmental topics such as recycling, sustainability, and proper waste disposal.

Held at Shopping Estação Locanda from 10 AM to 4 PM, the program has already welcomed over 700 children, with activities featuring educational films and hands-on experiences. The project seeks to foster a sense of environmental responsibility among the younger generation while also being open to the general public. The organizers hope to expand the initiative's reach beyond its current participants, encouraging greater involvement from the local community.

In addition to educational activities, the circuit includes a photographic exhibition showcasing the region's biodiversity, further enriching the learning experience. Overall, the environmental circuit represents a significant effort to connect the community with nature and promote sustainable practices, highlighting the role of education in environmental stewardship.
