Dozens injured from direct hit in Arad: at least four in serious condition, including a five-year-old girl

At least 64 people were injured in a missile attack from Iran on Arad, Israel, with four reported in serious condition, including a five-year-old girl.

On Saturday evening, a missile launched from Iran struck Arad, resulting in at least 64 injuries, including seven individuals in serious condition and 13 in moderate condition. Among the severely injured is a five-year-old girl. The missile hit between three buildings, causing walls to collapse and sparking fires in surrounding structures. Magen David Adom’s CEO, Eli Bein, reported trapped individuals at the scene and declared the event a mass casualty incident.

The Mayor of Arad, Ya'ir Ma'ayan, stated that over 100 families would need to evacuate their homes due to the impact of the strike. Many residents from the affected neighborhood gathered in nearby streets as emergency services worked to address the aftermath. Hours prior to this incident, a twelve-year-old boy was seriously injured, and a woman in her thirties sustained moderate injuries from a similar missile strike in Dimona, also attributed to Iranian launches, indicating a broader pattern of escalating attacks.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that attempts were made to intercept the missile, and officials have confirmed that an investigation into the event will take place. Alongside the serious injuries, around 25 others sustained light injuries, primarily from shrapnel, emphasizing the perilous situation in southern Israel amid ongoing tensions.
