"Our revenge will be terrible": Shocking graffiti from anarchists against police forces

In Rome, anarchist graffiti threatening police and state authorities emerged overnight, prompting police investigations following the recent deaths of two anarchists in an explosion.

In the early hours of the morning, shocking graffiti messages appeared at the Marconi Metro B station in Rome, where anarchists expressed their defiance towards police forces with phrases such as "Our revenge will be terrible" and "Death to oppressors." The messages, written in black and pink, have been traced back to the anarchist community, raising concerns over a possible escalation in tensions between law enforcement and anarchist groups. The police were alerted just before midnight by Atac's operational center and promptly responded to the scene.

The emergence of the graffiti follows the recent deaths of two anarchists, Alessandro Mercogliano and Sara Ardizzone, who were involved with a group linked to actions against state authorities. An explosion in an abandoned building near the Acquedotti park, where they were found, has prompted police to investigate further into their activities. Investigators are currently examining surveillance footage and are focused on obtaining information related to the supply chain of explosives used by the deceased anarchists, as they suspect that there may be fellow operatives planning further actions.

As the investigation unfolds, police forces continue to address the atmosphere of unrest among anarchist factions in Rome. The Digos, Italyโ€™s anti-terrorism and special operations branch, has also conducted searches, seizing material from the residences of five suspects linked to the suspects' activities. This situation reflects a troubling rise in hostility between anarchist groups and law enforcement and raises questions about public safety and state response to rising tensions in urban areas.
