One Thing Disturbs Finnish Star at the World Championships – ‘It’s Frustrating’
Finnish sprint hurdler Lotta Kemppinen expressed her frustration after narrowly missing a spot in the finals of the 60-meter event at the World Championships.
During the World Championships, Finnish sprint hurdler Lotta Kemppinen finished her semifinal race with a time of 7.19 seconds, just shy of reaching the finals. Despite her time being one of her season's best, Kemppinen expressed disappointment, explaining that she always aims for an even better performance. She noted that she felt slightly off during her run, which contributed to her frustration as she felt she could have achieved a time closer to her personal best of 7.15 seconds.
Kemppinen's performance on Saturday morning included a personal record of 7.16 seconds, showcasing her capabilities, but it ultimately fell short of the qualification time needed for the finals. She acknowledged that while her semifinal time was commendable and worthy of recognition, she wished to have done better. The 25-year-old athlete indicated that she plans to review video footage of her performance to understand where improvements could be made and to identify any issues she faced during the race.
Looking ahead, Kemppinen has little time to rest following the World Championships, as she will be returning to Finland early Sunday morning. She has scheduled rest days on Monday and Tuesday, as she prepares for future competitions. Her drive and determination reveal a strong commitment to her sport, as she continues to strive for excellence even in the face of setbacks.
