Iran Takes Revenge, Missile Attack on Israel's Nuclear City 'Dimona'
Iran has launched a ballistic missile attack on Dimona, a key site for Israel's nuclear research, in response to an airstrike on its Natanz nuclear facility by the US and Israel.
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran has escalated to include attacks on nuclear facilities. The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed that a ballistic missile launched by Iran struck a building in the city of Dimona, located in the Negev desert, on Saturday. This missile attack appears to be a retaliatory strike, coinciding with an airstrike conducted by the US and Israel on Iran's largest nuclear site in Natanz the same day.
Dimona is of strategic importance to Israel, housing a sensitive nuclear research center. Following the missile strike, Israel's emergency medical services, Magan David Adom (MDA), reported that their teams were deployed for rescue operations. Approximately 20 patients are currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the attack, primarily caused by shrapnel, as people sought cover in nearby bunkers. A video purportedly showing the Iranian missile striking Dimona has also gone viral on social media.
This incident marks a significant escalation in hostilities between Israel and Iran, highlighting the precarious nature of regional security. As more parties become involved in the conflict, the implications for stability in the Middle East could be severe, raising concerns about potential further retaliation and escalating military engagements between these two nations and their allies.
