The Biju Janata Dal (BJD), led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has suspended six of its Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) due to allegations of cross voting during the recent Rajya Sabha elections in Odisha. This decision was made during a meeting of the party's Political Affairs Committee, chaired by Patnaik himself. The suspended MLAs include Chakramani Kanhara from Baliguda, Naba Kishore Malik from Jaydev, Souvik Biswal from Choudwar-Cuttack, Subhasini Jena from Bastar, Ramkant Bhoi from Tirtol, and Debi Ranjan Tripathy from Banki.
