Since the beginning of the war, 240 rockets and drones have been launched into Jordan
Jordanian forces report that they have intercepted and destroyed 222 rockets and drones since the start of ongoing hostilities.
According to the Jordanian military, a total of 240 rockets and drones have been launched into Jordan since the onset of the current conflict. Among these, the Royal Air Force has successfully intercepted and destroyed 222, with 18 rockets and drones evading interception. The military's media office indicated that in the past week alone, 36 rockets and drones were aimed at the kingdom, with a majority being intercepted, yet one attack was not successfully neutralized.
The escalation of missile and drone attacks is linked to increased hostilities in the region, notably following strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28. These attacks appear to have provoked Iran's retaliation, targeting various countries in the region, including Jordan. Civilian infrastructure has also been affected, raising concerns about the broader implications of the conflict for security and stability in neighboring countries.
Fortunately for Jordan, there have been no reported fatalities, though the health authorities have documented 29 injuries resulting from these attacks, all of whom have since been discharged from the hospital. The situation reflects a precarious balance in regional tensions, as Jordan attempts to safeguard its borders while managing the fallout from the ongoing conflict, underscoring the importance of military preparedness and international solidarity against threats posed by state and non-state actors alike.
