Inspections are ongoing in the earthquake-affected areas of Thesprotia and Ioannina after the March 8 earthquake.
Following the earthquake that struck the regions of Thesprotia and Ioannina on March 8, 2026, the General Directorate for Restoration of the Effects of Natural Disasters has commenced a series of inspections to assess the damages. As of March 20, the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection reported that 350 inspections have been conducted across several municipalities, including Dodoni, Zitsa, Ioannina, Souli, and Filiates. The evaluation categorized 154 buildings as "green" (acceptable condition), 122 as "yellow" (requiring minor repairs), and 74 as "red" (unsafe for occupation).
