Stone-pelting after Eid prayers in Sambhal, clashes between two groups

A minor dispute following Eid prayers in Sambhal escalated into violent clashes between two groups of the same community.

In Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, a minor dispute escalated into violence after Eid prayers. The incident occurred in the village of Obari, where a Scorpio car drove through a muddy pothole, splashing mud onto a passerby, Fida Hussain. This led to an argument between two groups within the same community, rapidly growing into a physical altercation involving sticks and stones. The clash caused chaos in the area as bystanders and participants engaged in the fray.

Local police from the Asmoli police station promptly arrived at the scene to restore order following the incident, which erupted as people were returning home from the Eid prayers. In response to the situation, authorities reported that five individuals, including a man named Nazir, have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code based on Fida Hussain's complaint. They are currently investigating the matter and have promised stringent action against those responsible for inciting the violence.

Despite police intervention, tensions remain high in the village, leading to increased police presence to ensure the safety of residents. Officials are working to calm the situation and prevent any further escalations, as the environment remains fragile in the aftermath of the clashes between the two groups over what began as a trivial incident post-Eid prayers.
