LIVE | Siimer and Kehva compete in the last pursuit race of the World Cup season

The final pursuit races of the biathlon World Cup season are taking place in Oslo, featuring top athletes like Sturla Holm Lägreid and Emilien Jacquelin.

Today in Oslo's Holmenkollen, the last pursuit races of the biathlon World Cup season are being held. The live broadcast by ETV and ERR's sports portal will begin at 17:00, featuring commentators Tarmo Tiisler and Margus Ader. Sturla Holm Lägreid, who has won the last four races in the World Cup, including the sprint and pursuit in Otepää, will start first. He is closely followed by Emilien Jacquelin from France, who has finished second to Lägreid in the last three competitions, starting four seconds after him.

Additionally, Eric Perrot, another French athlete, will start just one second after Jacquelin. Perrot has already secured the overall victory in the World Cup series and leads in the pursuit standings with 337 points. However, he must fend off challengers such as Sebastian Samuelsson (314 points), Tommaso Giacomeli (296 points), and Johannes Dale-Skjevdal (294 points) in Saturday's race to maintain his standing.

As the leading athletes begin within five seconds of one another, Martin Ponsiluoma has a more substantial delay of 19 seconds from the leader, which adds an extra layer of strategy and challenge to his race. This final competition not only caps the season but also sets the stage for possible shifts in rankings and accolades among the top biathletes, making it an event to watch closely for fans and followers of the sport.
