Inka Henelius Cannot Host Sports Spotlight
Yle's sports journalist Inka Henelius is set to return to work after Easter following an Achilles tendon rupture but will take on different tasks until she can host the Sports Spotlight show again.
Inka Henelius, a sports journalist at Yle in Finland, sustained an Achilles tendon rupture during a floorball tournament for sports journalists at the end of January in Helsinki. This unfortunate injury has forced her to miss significant events, including the upcoming Milan-Cortina Olympics. As she begins her comeback, Henelius is exploring other responsibilities since she is not yet able to resume hosting her regular segment, Sports Spotlight.
Her recovery is estimated to take around six months, and she remains optimistic about her progress, hoping to resume running by the end of July. Currently, she is undergoing rehabilitation after being immobilized in a cast for two weeks. Following this period, her treatment transitioned to an ortho shoe that will assist in her rehabilitation and mobility.
Henelius expressed hopefulness as she nears the eight-week mark post-injury and anticipates transitioning out of the ortho shoe soon. She mentioned that with the gradual easing of her recovery process, there is "light at the end of the tunnel," indicating her commitment to returning to her full capabilities and sporting duties in the near future.
