Anarchists killed by a bomb. They were planning an attack
Two anarchists died in an explosion while preparing an attack against various potential targets in Italy.
Two anarchists, Alessandro Mercogliano and Sara Ardizzone, were killed in an explosion while they were reportedly handling explosives intended for a terrorist attack aimed at notable targets such as the Leonardo group, the railway network, or government offices. They were associated with different anarchist circles: Ardizzone was linked to 'La Faglia' of Foligno, and Mercogliano to the 'Nucleo Olga' of the Informal Anarchist Federation. Both had expressed support for Alfredo Cospito, a notorious figure among radical circles, currently imprisoned under strict security conditions.
The explosion occurred late Thursday night, and many in the vicinity of Parco degli Acquedotti heard the blast but no one immediately reported it. It wasn't until the following morning that a passerby discovered the scene, finding the collapsed ceiling of an abandoned farmhouse, leading to the notification of authorities. Firefighters and specialized units were dispatched to the site, where they uncovered the remains of both individuals, highlighting the dangerous and volatile nature of their activities.
