President Draupadi Murmu worships at Danghati Temple in Govardhan, begins the seven-kos parikrama on foot
President Draupadi Murmu participated in rituals at the Danghati Temple and commenced a revered seven-kos parikrama during her religious tour in Uttar Pradesh.
On the final day of her three-day religious tour in Uttar Pradesh, President Draupadi Murmu arrived at the famous Danghati Temple in Govardhan. Upon her arrival, she was welcomed grandly and began her visit by performing the abhishek of Giriraj Maharaj by pouring 11 liters of milk, curd, honey, ghee, and jaggery, amidst the chanting of praises. This ritual is deeply revered among devotees and underscores her engagement with traditional religious practices.
Following the worship, the temple administration presented the President with a silver idol of Giriraj Ji, along with special offerings, including a yellow cloth and prasadam. After completing the rituals, President Murmu began the significant seven-kos parikrama from the Danghati Temple. This parikrama is of immense importance to devotees, and although golf carts were arranged for security and convenience, President Murmu chose to walk part of the route in an act of devotion, an action that highlights her commitment to engaging with the community and traditions during her presidency.
