Residents of Vilnius Christmas Forest Will Plant Leftover Christmas Trees

Residents of Vilnius are encouraged to participate in tree-planting sessions to plant leftover Christmas trees facilitated by city park specialists.

The Vilnius city council has announced a tree-planting event for locals to plant Christmas trees that were left over from the festive season. Starting from 10 AM, residents can join "Vilnius City Parks" specialists who will assist with the planting and offer beneficial tips. Participants are encouraged to bring a shovel and water to help their newly planted trees thrive. The designated planting locations will be marked by special stakes,

Currently, the Vilnius Christmas Forest is home to 100 evergreen trees of various ages, and approximately 30 more trees are added each year. This initiative not only promotes environmental consciousness but also fosters community involvement in maintaining green spaces within the city. This year's Christmas Forest features unique natural decorations contributed by local residents, schools, and kindergartens, highlighting the community’s creativity and connection to the project.

Furthermore, participants will have the opportunity to give their planted trees a name. The city council aims to record each tree’s details, enhancing the sense of ownership and responsibility towards these trees.
