Cauã Henrique, popularly known as Zekinha do Humor, was fatally shot in the neighborhood of Nova Descoberta in North Recife on Thursday evening. The 18-year-old social media influencer was reportedly shot as he got off his horse. Emergency services were alerted by a family member who transported him to a nearby healthcare unit, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving.

Zekinha had garnered a following of 143,000 on Instagram, where he was well-known for sharing content focused on his daily life in Nova Descoberta and neighboring areas. His posts often featured humorous sketches, including quips about using a horse for delivery services, which resonated with his local audience. His sudden death has sparked mourning among his followers and raised concerns regarding violence in the region.

The local authorities, specifically the Department of Homicides and Protection to the Person (DHPP), are conducting an investigation into the shooting. As of now, the motive behind this tragic incident remains unclear, drawing attention to issues of safety and crime rates in Recife, especially concerning young individuals who are public figures on social media.
