A radar, at popular request, for the most dangerous stretch of the A-4 in Madrid as it passes through Valdemoro: "There are accidents every day"
A safety radar is to be installed on a dangerous stretch of the A-4 highway in Valdemoro, Madrid, following persistent local concerns about frequent accidents.
In a troubling stretch of the A-4 highway between kilometers 26 and 30 in Valdemoro, Madrid, there have been daily accidents, ranging from minor collisions to severe incidents. Jesús Paniagua, the president of the Consumers and Users Association of Valdemoro (Acusval), took action after witnessing this alarming situation that virtually divides the city. His efforts included bringing the issue to the attention of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
To his surprise, he received a prompt official response acknowledging the problem. The letter stated that an analysis had been conducted to assess the current road safety conditions at that location. As a result, the Ministry has deemed it necessary to implement additional speed control measures, recognizing speed as a significant factor contributing to the frequency of accidents.
These forthcoming measures, including the installation of a radar to monitor speeds, reflect a promising step towards enhancing safety on this perilous stretch of road. The local community, long frustrated by the danger of daily accidents, now has reason to hope that such changes will reduce the number of incidents and safeguard the lives of drivers and pedestrians alike.
